About
Jordan Veasley is a wildlife educator and content creator whose mission is to make it fun to learn about the animal world. His passion for wildlife education and conservation is contagious and he hopes to inspire younger generations to be participants in conserving and repairing the natural world.
Through his educational and often comedic videos, he explores different ways to engage with wildlife: in zoos, aquariums, safaris, through books and television, and even hiking in his own backyard. Whether you’re watching an episode of A to Zoo or a Rattlesnake Exploration, you’re sure to learn something new in each video.
Jordan has been caring for animals in zoos from age 11, working his way from youth volunteer, to exhibit attendant, to zookeeper by age 24. From a young age, Jordan was wearing out the pages of his Zoo Books and reading San Diego Zoo guide books cover to cover. His mother saw how passionate he was for wildlife and pushed to create a youth volunteer role for Jordan at his local zoo. Jordan was the youngest volunteer ever in 2001, and this role ultimately led to the creation of the Zoo Corps program at Woodland Park Zoo.
In 2012, Jordan graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelors of Science, Environmental Science & Resource Management: Wildlife Conservation. With his degree, he continued to advance his zoo career, while also searching for ways to achieve his dream of hosting his own wildlife show. He formed several YouTube channels over the years before creating Jungle Jordan in 2017. Since then, he has been bringing his voice to his audience through social media, podcasts, classrooms, diversity panels and more. He advocates not only for the conservation of wildlife, but also for diverse audiences to get involved in animal care and conservation. Jordan hopes his voice will inspire more diversity and inclusivity in the animal world.
